Durability and Resilience
ParisAt the crossroads of the eco-district and historical, suburban Rueil, Stellata forms an aesthetic link between these two scales through a carefully crafted massing and height profile.
The residence offers three distinct ways of living both in the city and amidst nature. The garden-level base accommodates duplex apartments extended by in-ground private gardens, reminiscent of Rueil’s traditional townhouses.
The intermediate floors feature generous outdoor spaces—mostly south-facing balconies or terraces—with views of the residence’s landscaped areas and the bordering Jacques Chirac Park. The upper floors add distant vistas to this panorama, featuring the La Défense skyline as a backdrop.
Stellata’s aesthetics combine natural materials, such as stone for the base and wood for the undersides of the balconies, with a meticulous approach to volume.
Thanks to the benefits of off-site construction and dry-assembly methods, the project sets an exemplary standard for sustainability and is the first new building with a solid wood structure and bio-based materials to be awarded the “Low Carbon Label: New Bio-based Building” (Label Bas Carbone : Bâtiment Neuf Biosourcé) granted by the Ministry of Ecological Transition.

Thanks to the benefits of dry construction methods and the use of off-site prefabricated elements, the project is exemplary in terms of sustainability and is the first new building with a mass timber structure and bio-based materials to be awarded the “Low Carbon Label: New Bio-based Building” (Label Bas Carbone : Bâtiment Neuf Biosourcé) granted by the Ministry of Ecological Transition. From the second floor upward, the construction relies on a mass timber frame (cross-laminated timber), which gives the building a true structural depth and, in addition to its climate benefits, creates a noble filter between the interior of the apartments and the outside. The Stellata residence is the first new mass timber construction in France to feature semi-supported balconies made of low-carbon, recycled steel produced using green electricity. These balconies are delivered in several parts and then assembled on-site.
