Located in Le Kremlin-Bicêtre, at the southwestern gateway to the city, the EDENA project forms part of the transformation of a rapidly evolving neighbourhood. At the intersection of a low-rise residential fabric and a denser urban environment, the development proposes a contemporary architectural approach that responds sensitively to its context and prioritises the quality of life of its residents.The building is characterised by its soft lines, rounded corners, and continuous balconies, creating an elegant and harmonious silhouette. Variations in building height ensure a gradual integration into the urban landscape, while the light-toned façades combine durable and bio-based materials, including hemp bricks, timber, and mineral renders.The programme brings together private residential units and social housing, complemented by retail spaces and a coworking area on the ground floor. Ranging from studios to four-bedroom apartments, the residences prioritise natural light, outdoor spaces, and adaptability to different lifestyles.
At the heart of the block, a landscaped garden accessed through a double-height passageway provides a peaceful green retreat for residents. Designed as a series of planted terraces following the natural topography of the site, it promotes biodiversity, rainwater infiltration, and the creation of a cooling microclimate.The design incorporates an ambitious environmental approach, combining low-carbon materials, geothermal energy, and solutions that enhance indoor air quality and thermal comfort.
A participatory artistic installation, inspired by the theme of performing arts, further enriches the project and strengthens its connection to the local cultural scene. EDENA thus proposes a new approach to urban living, bringing together architectural quality, environmental responsibility, and everyday well-being.
