Located in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates, the RAK Supervillas project forms part of Mira Coral Bay, a prestigious residential development along the Arabian Gulf. Set between desert landscapes, mountain ranges, and coastal ecosystems, the project offers a contemporary interpretation of luxury living, deeply inspired by the region’s architectural heritage and local traditions.Positioned at the entrance to the bay, the villas are conceived as architectural landmarks defining the identity of the new development. Their design is characterised by bold geometric volumes wrapped in perforated façades inspired by the traditional mashrabiya. Reinterpreted as a movable screening system, this architectural feature allows sunlight, views, and privacy to be adjusted throughout the day. This protective envelope gives the buildings a sculptural quality while responding to the region’s climatic conditions.Each villa is organised across several levels, creating a clear distinction between reception areas and more private living spaces. The ground floor accommodates generous lounges and social spaces extending onto terraces, landscaped gardens, and an outdoor swimming pool. The upper floors are dedicated to family suites and private retreats, while the lower levels bring together leisure and wellness facilities, including a private cinema, gym, hammam, and sauna. At roof level, a landscaped terrace with a swimming pool and gardens provides an additional space for relaxation.
Landscape plays a central role in the design. Landscaped patios and internal gardens extend across the different levels, creating moments of openness and tranquillity within the built volumes. The presence of water and the selection of plant species adapted to the arid climate contribute to a peaceful living environment while minimising irrigation requirements.The interiors feature a refined palette of natural materials, combining stone, timber, and mineral finishes in tones inspired by the surrounding sand and rock formations.Through an architectural approach that combines climate-responsive design, traditional craftsmanship, and contemporary amenities, RAK Supervillas offers a residential experience where comfort, privacy, and openness to the landscape come together.The project expresses a vision of luxury defined by the quality of its spaces, the richness of its materials, and a strong connection to the identity of the surrounding environment.
